ARCHITECTURE, ARTS, AND DESIGN SCHOOL

This project was done in collaboration with Héctor Castillo and Antonio Gallegos as part of the course "Architectural Projects V".

The ITESM university wanted to join the architecture, arts, and design departments into a single school with its own building inside the Monterrey Campus. The Architecture Department already had its own building, but in order to accommodate the new incoming students from the Arts and Design Department, the building needed to be expanded.

The expansion area includes new classrooms, an auditorium, and an art gallery. In addition, the new facade aligns with the university's main office building facade, which has a powerful mural. A digital screen is anchored to the exterior facade in order to form a connection between both buildings, the same as the columns that sustain the new structure. The screen can be used to show different news and important information to the students, or to show the artistic productions of the new unified school.
